2023 Waypoint Silver Eagle Vineyard Pinot Noir
Silver Eagle rests atop Stoetz Ridge, the undulating plateau that separates the Sonoma Coast to the west from the Russian River Valley. Though the climate is very cool and foggy, the vineyard sits on a knoll that rises above the fog line, exposing the fruit to gentle sunlight and allowing slow, even ripening across the growing season. Sandy loam soils provide excellent drainage, deep roots, low vigor. Sourced from Vosne-Romanée clone on block 3b. Bursting with red and black fruit aromas, wild strawberry, and hints of spice, this Pinot Noir is exuberant and inviting. Across the palate, ripe raspberry and plum are framed by chalky minerality. Beautifully polished and layered.
