What is the story of Waypoint Wines?

From the verdant valley slopes to the stately redwood canopies, across the windswept coastal reaches to the rich peaks of volcanic earth, our vintners Matt Sands and Philippe Melka know no bounds in their search for the highest caliber vineyards in Northern California. No matter which direction their compass might point, their focus remains singular: to craft small-lot, single-vineyard wines that best represent a varietal and its unique growing location, all while ensuring each wine is absolutely delicious and infinitely drinkable. That’s our way.

Wine Production and Storage

How large is your production?

At Waypoint, we focus on crafting high-quality wines in small quantities. This approach allows us to maintain meticulous attention to detail and ensure that each bottle meets our high standards of excellence. Our production size is intentionally limited, enabling us to emphasize quality over quantity and truly capture the essence of our unique terroir in every glass.

How should I store and serve your red wines?

Our Cabernets benefit from being stored in a cool, dark place at a consistent temperature between 55°F and 65°F. If you plan to age your Cabernets, ensure it is stored on its side to keep the cork moist, which prevents it from drying out and letting air into the bottle.

How should I store and serve your white wines?

Store your Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay in a wine refrigerator or a constant cool area where the temperature is around 45°F to 50°F. This wine is typically consumed within a few years of release, so long-term aging isn’t necessary.
